Hemi was plucked from the mean streets of New Orleans by a police officer during the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Unclaimed and considered too rowdy for adoption by those who evaluated him, he ended up spending nine months in a kennel in a Louisiana prison! There he became a favorite with the inmates who cared for him. Thanks to Desiree Bender, Donna Reynolds and funding from the HSUS, Hemi was shipped to Washington State to the LawDogs program.
