Volunteering For LawDogsUSA
LawDogs is not a large organization so we have a limited number of volunteer opportunities. This page will explain how you can help if you live locally to LawDogs (Western Washington) or if you live far away. As LawDogs grows, we hope to be able to increase the number of volunteer opportunities. |
Fund Raising LawDogsUSA can only help the American pit bull and our law enforcement officers if we have financial support. We are a 501(c)3 non profit. Our unpaid staff spend most of their time in direct work with the dogs, so our time to fund raise is extremely limited. No matter how far you live from LawDogsUSA, we encourage anyone who wants to make a meaningful contribution to our program to do a fund raiser. Money will be used to feed, house, care and transport the animals as well as build and buy training equipment. |

Spread The Word Please take a moment to send the LawDogsUSA link to your local police or sheriff's department. They may be looking for a dog. We need help getting the word out! Also, contact your local paper and see if they are interested in doing a story on these dogs. The primary purpose of LawDogsUSA is to promote the positive use of American pit bulls. We want everyone to know what a great job this breed does as a detection dog! Every positive exposure about American pit bulls is important in today's media induced hysteria. We need to let others see what we already know - these are the best dogs on earth. |

Foster Homes: We often need to house dogs and pups for several weeks to months while waiting for a position for them. This is a similar commitment to raising a guide dog puppy. These are high drive animals and must be handled in specific ways to increase their chances of deployment as a detection dog. We require a well fenced yard and no day crating.
